I had meant to add this a while back but caught up with other things. I spent some considerable time working on the Capsule Jump simulation and tweaked it's appearance and feel substantially. I am hoping to make it fly faster, and look more like the cut scenes from I-war 1. Not a stickler for 'canon' but the original looked great I thought. Here is a sample of where I left it at for your viewing pleasure and critique.
I have fixed and uploaded the final 'Alpha' version of Unstable Space. A number of people were having trouble with it, in particular being unable to travel between start systems. This new build should have that issue solved. Approaching an l-point with a viable jumproute and pressing tab should bring up a dialogue to choose which route to take. Go to the Downloads section to find the fixed Alpha.
Yesterday I went a little crazy and decided to overhaul all the turrets. I figured that since I am trying to get them in game, I might as well make them look good. To that effect I totally rebuilt all the turrets; models, animations, effects, types etc. I also added turret mountpoints to a number of the larger craft that can be bought, or hired. The cool thing about these is that nothing will start out with turrets or mount them normally. Players will be able to invest hard earned cash into turrets for their wingmen ships, such as freighters or fuel tankers, or even for their own ship, should they have acquired a rare destroyer as their own ship. All the turrets can actually be visually mounted onto capable ships via the new loadout system.
