Take a look at that screenshot. Notice anything? Yes, well, Torn Stars, and Unstable Space for that matter, run very nicely on OSX. How is this possible? Well, if you have a copy of X3 The Reunion, it is quite easy. That game is wrapped in a program called Cider, which is used to simulate a windows environment for the program it wraps. On a whim I tried Edge of Chaos in Cider, and lo! with just a little tweaking it worked. Specifically you need a noCD dll for EoC, and compressed textures must be turned off in EoC's graphics options. (0) |

Joco, our resident pog and all round coding expert, has taken some time out to make an easy installer/uninstaller for whismerhill's 'Ambient Lights' mod. This makes changing or restoring the ambient light settings of the game a snap. Head to the downloads section to check it out.

Mdvalley has written the first mod for Torn Stars. It is called Spewer Operations, and modifies the game to require actual loading and unloading of pods when trading. For those who like their space-sims realistic, this mod is a must. It is so good that we will probably include it with Traffic.
